- Canvas: 8×10 Canvas Board
- Acrylic Paint Palette: Mars Black, Titanium White, Primary Red, Primary Blue, Primary Yellow
- Brushes: 1” Flat Brush, 1/2” Flat Brush, Small Round Detail Brush
Step 1: The Rainbow Background
Block in your entire 8×10 canvas using your 1″ flat brush. Ensure a flat, rich coat of paint. This deep background space serves as the ultimate high-contrast foundation, making your rainbow colors pop off the surface. Let this layer dry completely before moving forward. Work X-strokes from pink to yellow/orange diagonally through the center, clean brush add blue for green in upper left. Clean brush and add Purple and blues in the lower and lower right.

Step 2: Layer the Rainbow Shades
Switch to your 1/2″ flat brush to create the vibrant color aura. Layer more shades using more white in smaller brush strokes. Don’t overthink the blending—keep your lines loose and allow the colors to meet naturally on the background.

Step 3: Anchor the Trunk and Branches
Using your 1/2″ flat brush loaded with Mars Black (add a bit of red and yellow for brown vibes), draw a strong, elegant wiggly tree trunk rising from the bottom center edge. Sweep the brush upward and outward in Y-shape patterns to create fluid, twisting branches that stretch across your blended rainbow background. Trust your first instincts on the direction of your marks.

Step 4: Fine Details and Style Accents
Switch to your small round detail brush to add the final white flowers and highlights. Add tiny dots of color or mixing highlights across the canopy. Remember: every unexpected turn or misplaced spot is just —no biggy! Step back five feet, admire your composition, and let’s call it done!
